This history is subject to revision as more fact, myth, and legend are made public.

Recently a gentleman associated with the very early days of RC modeling in Hunt County stumbled on to our website and has graciously taken the time to scan some pictures he has saved that provide some very interesting information about the early roots of the Greenville RC Airplane Club, not to mention the great fashion styles of days gone by.  Many thanks to Mr. Nolan Bailey for sharing with us and inspiring the History Section of this website.

Nolan seems to have sparked the nostalgia bug in some of our ancient wizards that practice the mystical art of RC aircraft (better known as the old farts) and they have begun to rummage through their old stuff too. I hope to fill the server with these old photographs.

The links below will take you to some photographs that I think you will really enjoy. The ones that are text are pretty big downloads on a dial up connection, sorry about that, but I wanted you to be able to read it.

These pictures are provided courtesy of Nolan Bailey.

Here are Nolan's pictures as a slide show (856kb)

John Decker even precedes Nolan and has graciously provided these historic photos.  We can expect to hear the storied tale of the club soon.
