Family and Friends Picnic:
Details: We do this on the second Saturday in May so put it on your calendar every year.
This is the one event every year gives us a chance to drag everyone we can pile in the car out to the field to watch us fly model airplanes and enjoy a day outside.
It is fun for everyone because it really is just a big ol' summer time cookout ... we burn burgers and hotdogs on the grill and fun is the order of the day.
We supply the food, you supply the water and soft drinks.
There is no contest so this is just a relaxed day for you to visit with old friends and maybe make some new ones.
There are plenty of people giving test flights, so don't be bashful step right up and try out flying a model airplane.
Annual Club Kit Build Contest:
This has become an annual event too, we do it the second Saturday in September.
The event is open competition with the only rule being NO ARFs allowed.
Prizes are awarded for beauty and for flying skills.
The competition has been fierce in the beauty contest and the flying showdown, so far it has been a lot of fun.
All of the club members present vote on the models to determine the winner of the beauty contest and a small panel of judges pulled from the ranks that are just hanging around judge the competitors in the flying skills contest.
While this event is stressful for some of the competitors (some models will have the maiden flight early that morning) it iss also a lot of fun.
First through third are awarded prizes in the beauty contest and the flying competition so there is a good chance to take home a prize.
The Club serves lunch to everyone in attendance.
Club Pylon Race:
Plane: World Models Sky Raider Mach II
Engine: Any 40 class 'bushed' two stroke engine (such as TT GP42 or OS LA46)
Miscellaneous: Family and friends are welcome to come out and watch us try to fly around the pylons (poles).
There is a greater than 0% chance to see a few planes meet their expiration dates at this event.
Bring your own water and soft drinks.
Trainer Combat:
Plane: Any "40" class high wing trainer.
Engine: Any 40 class 'bushed' two stroke engine (such as TT GP42 or OS LA46)
Miscellaneous: Family and friends are welcome to come out and watch us try to cut a ribbon off of another plane.
Much like the pylon race there is a greater than 0% chance to see a few planes meet their expiration dates at this event.
Bring your own water and soft drinks.
